Charles E. Porter, 77, of Pierceton, IN went to be with the Lord at 3:03 a.m. on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw, IN. He was born on October 28, 1943 in Blue Island, IL to Everett P. & Frances D. (McBain) Porter.
He graduated from Thorton Township High School in Harvey, IL, and the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO, as a Chemical-Petroleum-Refining Engineer. He was a United States Army Veteran and served in Viet Nam. Former employment included Air Resources, Union Oil Company, and Clark Oil in Illinois and Great Northern Processing in Indiana. He was a self-employed consultant for Aldwich Industries in Belgium and Malaysia until retirement in 2009.
He was married on October 10, 1965 in Gering, NE, to Beth L. Meyer who survives. They lived in Denver, CO from 1965 to 1972, Tinley Park, IL - 1974 to 1995, and moved to the Warsaw area in 1995.
He was part of the Oak Forest Baptist church community in Oak Forest, IL, as well as the Warsaw Community Grace Brethren and the Winona Lake Grace Brethren communities.
He is survived by:
Wife – Beth Porter of Pierceton
Daughter – Laurel Porter of Grand Haven, MI
2 Sons – David (Nicole) Porter & Daniel (Lindsey) Porter both of Winona Lake, IN
7 Grandchildren – Abbigail, Clara, Eleanor, Everett, Amia, Evelyn, and Charlotte
Brother – Edwin Porter of Denver, CO
Sister – Judith (Bill) Smith of Fountain Inn, SC
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Leonard Porter, formerly from Lake City, TN.
